Description

1. Product Introduction

High Tower Granulation is a complete production system that utilizes a towering structure—typically 60 to 120 meters high. The process involves spraying molten materials from the top, allowing them to cool and solidify into perfectly spherical granules during their free-fall through the tower.

  • Core Components: Melting-mixing tanks, high-tower prilling heads (nozzles), the tower structure, lifting systems, and automated packaging systems.

  • Applications: Widely used for producing high-nitrogen compound fertilizers, urea-based fertilizers, and nitrate-based compound fertilizers.

2. Performance Features

Compared to traditional rotary drum or spray granulation, High Tower Granulation offers premium product quality and operational advantages:

  • Superior Aesthetics: The resulting granules exhibit excellent sphericity, a smooth and lustrous surface, and highly uniform particle size distribution.

  • Exceptional Solubility: The granules feature microscopic pores, allowing for rapid dissolution in water. This makes them ideal for fertigation and modern irrigation systems.

  • High Strength & Anti-Caking: Due to full crystallization during cooling, the granules are exceptionally hard and resistant to crushing. When treated with anti-caking agents, the product remains free-flowing even during long-term storage.

  • High Efficiency & Eco-Friendly: The process utilizes gravity, resulting in low energy consumption. It is a "Green Manufacturing" process with virtually zero wastewater discharge and minimal dust emissions.

  • Nutrient Integrity: Every single granule contains the exact same ratio of nutrients, preventing nutrient segregation during transport or application.

3. Working Principle

High Tower Granulation is a physical process of "Melt-to-Solid" cooling and crystallization.

Core Operational Stages:

  1. Melting & Mixing: Raw materials (such as urea or ammonium nitrate) are heated to a molten state and thoroughly mixed with other powdered additives (P and K sources) in a high-level stirring tank to form a flowable melt slurry.

  2. Top Spraying: The molten slurry is pumped to the tower's summit into a high-speed rotating prilling head with specific hole diameters and vibration frequencies.

  3. Free Fall & Heat Exchange:

    • Under the influence of centrifugal force and gravity, the slurry is sheared into countless tiny droplets.

    • As these droplets fall, they engage in heat exchange with a counter-current flow of cold air rising from the bottom of the tower.

  4. Spheroidization by Surface Tension: During the initial stage of the fall, surface tension forces the liquid droplets to contract into perfect spheres.

  5. Cooling & Solidification: As heat dissipates, the droplets solidify from the outside in. By the time they reach the bottom of the tower, they have become hard, finished solid granules.
